July 27: A Day of Rest
Normal people would take advantage of a free day in New York City and head to a matinee on Broadway, sightsee, or power shop. But we elected to do laundry, clean the boat and check the engine room instead. In truth, we have been in NSB so long we are afraid of big cities. I half expected to awaken to a hull of graffiti and curb feelers.
We had quite a collection of dirty laundry that we had to cart from our slip on dock K. The slips are alphabetical so it was probably a half mile to the machines. We got there and all were in use.
When they stopped and the owner wasn’t there, we were pissed. Then the lady came in who claimed to write a laundry blog.” Debbie jokingly offered to fight her so we are going to be in someone else’s blog for a change.
There was a huge sailboat race around Long Island out of this marina so it was packed this morning. Our plan is to get an early start and get to Atlantic City ahead of the wind. Problem is that there are no slips! Stay tuned!
