August 4: A Day of Rest… And Rain
It rained in Norfolk virtually the entire day. Debbie made French toast for breakfast and afterward we treated the cats to a day of beauty with nail trimming and brushing.
We got a brief reprieve in the weather around noon so we hiked to a 7-11 to buy a loaf of bread. We came back via Granby Street and stopped into an Irish pub for a pint as recommended by our dockmaster.
Later tonight this place will be slammed but we enjoyed the ambiance while we could.
We grabbed showers and now will head back to Grain for more brews and probably a burger. It is apparent that the winds will not be suitable for tuna fishing in the Outer Banks so we will have to skip that and hang toward the inside for a few days. So tomorrow we will leave around 6 am in order to catch the lock about 12 miles away.
We had a couple of beers and dinner before heading back to the boat. Heading to Coinjock tomorrow.
