August 6: Belhaven
We left Coinjock before 6 am and headed 89 miles to Belhaven. We stayed here on the way up but just at a different marina. It was dead flat calm and we didn’t see many boats… certainly not heading south.
We watched the sun come up over the swamp… which was the majority of our view for the day. JoAn gave me a play by play report by text of the women’s soccer loss.
I read a book most of the day because Debbie senses an impending mutiny. Our hopes of a tuna charter have been blown out and Danny sold his damn boat so I am bitchy to say the least. She tried to cheer me up by saying there are three breweries in Beaufort. She knows me well. We are headed there tomorrow.
On our final approach to the dock in Belhaven, the winds started howling. We tied up and Debbie went in to register. The girl in there is from Orlando and her grandfather who just bought the place is from NSB! Small world!
Planning an early departure to Beaufort tomorrow. Is there any other kind!?!

So glad you’re getting closer to home. We miss you guys. Looks like an incredible adventure. Love you
